"NO, Katie do it"

Okay, I don't have any pictures to post at this point, but thought I should do a little update on Katie's talking. We have reached a milestone. This weekend marked the beginning of Katie being able to verbalize her disapproval of getting helped. Instead of an unhappy grunt this weekend started "No Mommy do it, Katie do it!" Since Auntie Bevin was around every once in a while it was "No Mommy do it, Auntie do it". It is so funny to hear her insisting "NO, Katie do it", but I know it was only a matter of time.

She's getting to be a really good talker! She now has several songs that she will "sing" for us. She now has a pretty complete version of "Ring Around the Rosy", that includes the actions. She knows the line "No more monkeys jumping on the bed", she's a little confused with "Baa, Baa Black Sheep" and "Twinkle Twinkle" so she sings "Baa baa sheep, how I wonder, how I wonder". She mimicks everything we say - which makes me say some silly things just to hear her little voice working on armadillo and avacado, etc. She loves to chime in words while we're singing, and tell us exactly what she wants ("No this way" "No that cup"). It's pretty amazing to hear the words just pouring out of her now. Our favourite recently has been "Ssshhh, Katie sleeping - Wakey wakey Katie!"

Sunny Day with Ben

We decided since Daddy was away, today was a good day to go visit Ben and meet Holly!
Geared up and heading out - we thought it might be wet at the playground, Kaitlyn is not impressed at having to wear the muddy buddy. She chose on her own to wear Daddy's toque however...
Hey, it's dry and warm! Great! But I'm keeping Daddy's toque.
Holly seems to appreciate the sun and warmth as well. She slept through the whole fun time.
Kaitlyn needs Mommy to help her down the big slide.
Ben needs Daddy to dry off the big slide.

Kaitly doesn't seem to understand the phrase "hang on" or the phrase "with 2 hands". But the belly is getting to be a convenient resting spot.

Sunny Weekend

Giant post-it notes make playing with "colours" a lot of fun

Kaitlyn takes us for a walk down at Trout lake
The Lions from Trout Lake park. The sun came out to make for a beautful afternoon.... how old do kids need to be before you can take them skiing?
