Lazy Start to Saturday

Katie's in Ballet

Katie has joined a ballet class at the community center. She's quite enjoying herself most of the time. When Aunt Lorna heard this she got so excited she couldn't help it, she had to buy Katie a ballet outfit!

Katie's just checked herself out in the mirror and she liked what she saw!

I asked her to point her toe but as I was taking the picture I almost sat on the bears and they had to be rescued before we could continue.

Megan thinks that Katie is pretty amusing. This makes it easier and easier for me to leave the room so long as Katie stays.

Getting ready to go to the park - the sun has finally broken through and it's not a bad temperature! It even smells like spring.

Megan is 6 Months

To celebrate Megan being 6 months the sun came out for a few minutes! It's amazing that it's been half a year already since she was born! She's sitting up well now and even able to correct and reach a bit without falling over. She can even chew on a toy without toppling for a few minutes. She's also sleeping through the night!! That started over Christmas but has become a regular thing since the beginning of the month. She's eating solid foods and the doctor has given the go ahead for everything so she is starting to share our dinner... She holds onto the sides of the highchair to thrust herself forward and get into the eating. Pincher grasp is not so good yet and she doesn't seem to understand that once it's in her fist she should try to get it in her mouth - but she's getting excellent with those Mum Mum crackers.

More Sitting

I forgot how quickly this sitting thing progresses. Megan is getting so much steadier each day.

She still topples sometimes, and sometimes she does a purposeful belly flop to get to something in front of her.

The Will to Crawl

Megan is trying so hard to crawl these days. Kaitlyn is unknowingly helping by moving toys away an inch at a time. But Megan will have to grasp the idea that putting all her limbs on the floor is the best way to get moving...

Playdough with Gabby

Everyone was snowed in still today, so Gabby brought her Mimi over to visit. Playdough and apple snacks were the order of the day.

Traffic Snarls

At 9AM drop off time at the school across the road, this is the amusement in the snow. You probably can't tell in the photo, but not all the cars in that line up are pointed in the same direction and no one can get out of the ruts! It's fun to sit in the living room and drink tea and laugh...

Erin's Birthday

My birthday lemon meringue pie! It was yummy. Katie was pretty concerned that there wasn't going to be a party so we invited Kym up and put candles in the pie.

New Years 2009!

Happy New Years!!! We spent the vacation in Saturna with Kate, Chad and Sam.

On the first day the kids were pretty happy to play together without adults and we thought this was going to be an easy trip...
I guess we were making a lot of Happy New Years calls as Katie was quick to get on the phone as well.
